Southern California Contractors Association recognizes winners with dinner

About the scholarship

The purpose of the SCCA Scholarship Fund is to encourage and assist engineering- and construction-oriented students as they pursue education in those fields at accredited schools. SCCA’s goal is to grow the pool of work professionals and keep our industry moving forward. Awarding scholarships to college students who meet the criteria assists them in the process as they go to school and on to industry careers.

Funding that helps put this program in place is provided in part by the Construction Industry Advancement Fund (CIAF), the Fund for Construction Industry Advancement (FCIA), the Mobile Crane Operators Group (MCOG), and contributions made by our very own members.

Come for dinner

Join in this annual dinner at the Phoenix Club in Anaheim on August 21 and take time to give recognition to our industry’s youth. Tickets are on sale now! Discounts are provided to those who get their tickets by July 30. Sponsorship opportunities are also available and include recognition on event e-blasts, SCCA website, event posters, table displays, and mentions during event announcements.

Past winners

Since the beginning of the program in 1985, SCCA has awarded more than $866,000 academic scholarships to 387 students. Students who receive scholarships from SCCA are encouraged to seek employment at an SCCA member company upon their graduation (or sooner if possible).

There were 16 recipients last year and their fields of study include engineering, civil engineering, construction engineering management, environmental engineering, business administration, law and the emergency medicine paramedic program. More details about the awardees can be found in the SCCA magazine (pages 15 – 18).

Southern California Contractors Association takes pride in the betterment of these students and wishes them success as they pursue careers in our field. Get your tickets and join us for this event to welcome the future of engineering and construction professionals.
