This 8-hour course is designed to give the students the knowledge, skill, and materials to be certified as a Confined Space Entrant/Attendant and Supervisor. The course involves an in-depth study of the Confined Space regulation and all the safety requirements needed to enter a confined space. Tests will be given to all students who participate in each class. Students must pass a test before being certified for entry of “Confined Spaces”. Student cerification meets the training requirements specific under CCR Title 8 5157. This class can also be customized to cover your specific needs or requirements.
Course Agenda:
Introductions
- The Safety Conversation
- Hazard evaluation and classifications of spaces
- Measures to prevent unauthorized entry
- Acceptable entry conditions by classification of space
- Fall Protection when entering a space
Roles and responsibilities of person
- Entrant, Attendant, Entry Supervisor
- Determine and perform appropriate non-entry rescue procedures
- Select proper PPE
Selection, use and maintenance of the following:
- Testing and monitoring equipment
- Ventilation equipment
- Communications equipment
- Lighting, barriers, shields
- Ingress and egress equipment
- Energy Control Procedures and LO/TO of unnecessary machinery
Preparing the permit
- Step by step procedures for entry based on space classification
- Hands-On Exercise
