Our mission

We exist to empower and protect Southern California’s union contractors.

Our Guiding Beliefs

01
We believe everyone has a voice.
02
We believe Southern California should be built by SoCal contractors.
03
We believe we’re stronger together.

We accomplish our mission by staying member-led, actively engaging with our industry partners at centers of influence, and ensuring our members have the essential support they need to thrive.

Who We Are

Raising the bar on construction industry standards.

The Southern California Contractors Association is an influential, member-led association created to unite, serve, and protect Southern California’s union contractors. From labor relations and legislative advocacy to legal resources and professional development, SCCA offers members the knowledge and support they need to successfully navigate the highly competitive and complex SoCal construction landscape.

Committed to Southern California.

Our roots are in the Engineering and Grading Contractors Association (EGCA) which started in 1950 to serve excavating and grading contractors. In the following years, what began as one statewide chapter soon multiplied into more chapters across California. In 1974, representatives from the EGCA broke off to form a more regional association — what is now the Southern California Contractors Association.

Member-led since day one.

Since its founding, SCCA has always been and continues to be a volunteer-led organization governed by our members. Made up of union-affiliated contractor businesses and affiliate construction industry service providers, we’re here to maintain high professional standards among construction contractors by encouraging sound business practices, responsible efficiency, and productive cooperation between contractors. We work to raise industry standards and improve the contractor ecosystem so that a better SoCal for everyone is always being built.
