Safety is always a top priority for our members and as an association, we like to recognize those companies who implement outstanding safety practices to keep their employees safe on an annual basis.

This year’s Safety Awards will be presented at the Elks Lodge in Santa Ana, Wednesday, March 8, 2023.

Albert H. Atwood Safety Achievement Award (Contractors Only)

CONTRACTOR

Each year, the SCCA offers its “best” award for extraordinary achievement in the area of construction safety named in honor of Albert Atwood, SCCA founding manager, and Executive Vice President Emeritus.

The award can be given under a variety of criteria to a company or individual who has made a mark in the safety-related activities such as, but not limited to, difficult projects demanding special procedures, development and implementation of comprehensive programs, and plainly outstanding safety records.

Excellence in Accident Prevention Award

Member companies (Contractor & Affiliate) who have had zero to minimal incidents in the 2022 year.

Superior Supervisor Safety Award (Contractors Only)

The Superior Supervisor Safety Award is presented to individuals who have gone above and beyond the “normal” safety requirements for their crew and project.

The Safety Professional Award is presented to individuals who have gone above and beyond normal daily duties and are a positive influencer in their company’s safety culture.

Safe Driving Mileage Award

CONTRACTOR & AFFILIATE

Nominate a DOT driver who hauled materials and/or equipment to and from project sites in Southern California without an occupational injury or illness resulting in days away from work in the 2022 calendar year.
