Each year, the SCCA offers its “best” award for extraordinary achievement in the area of construction safety named in honor of Albert Atwood, SCCA founding manager, and Executive Vice President Emeritus.
The award can be given under a variety of criteria to a company or individual who has made a mark in the safety-related activities such as, but not limited to, difficult projects demanding special procedures, development and implementation of comprehensive programs, and plainly outstanding safety records.
*What you’ll need – Provide us a complete description of why you are nominating an employee, your company, or project for this award.
The Safety Professional Award is presented to individuals who have gone above and beyond normal daily duties and are a positive influencer in their company’s safety culture.
What you’ll need – Nomination letter provided on company letterhead of the safety professional you would like to have received this award. The letter must be signed by an owner or officer of the company.
Nominate a DOT driver who hauled materials and/or equipment to and from project sites in Southern California without an occupational injury or illness resulting in days away from work in the 2021 calendar year.
*What you’ll need – a nomination on company letterhead including a brief description of the employee, distance drove without violations or incidents in the 2021 year. (Must have a valid Class A license)
Most Improved Ex-Mod Award is awarded to companies who have the most improved Ex-Mod from 2020 to 2021.
*What you’ll need – Nomination letter signed by an owner or officer of the company that includes 2020 and 2021 California Worker’s Compensation Experience Rating Plan from your company insurance provider.
