SCCA joins forces with ARTBA

The Southern California Contractors Association Board of Directors approved a request from Executive Vice President Jim Burton to align with the powerful American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA) as a part of the organization’s effort to gain reauthorization of the federal highway program.

“We have negotiated a special initial membership opportunity for our contractors,” Burton said. “ARTBA is the most powerful organization in Washington on highway issues and with the difficulties the state of California is facing we need all the help we can get to serve our members.”

“SCAA joins a growing team of state contractor associations that have chosen to affiliate with ARTBA and work in partnership with us to grow and protect the transportation construction market," ARTBA Chairman Tom Hill said. "They are a key player in California and we are delighted to have them on our team.”

SCCA member companies will benefit by belonging to ARTBA’s Contractors Division, Burton said.  Included in the benefits will be a powerful partner in the campaign to gain re-authorization of the federal highway program.

Members are urged to contact the SCCA office at 323-726-3511 for details on this opportunity. Non members should consider this as another benefit of membership in the only all union contractors association in the region, Burton added.
