Calex Engineering Receives Albert H. Atwood Safety Award
March 10, Calex Engineering
was presented with the Albert H. Atwood
Safety Achievement Award for 2009. The award
is named in honor of the late Al Atwood,
SCCA’s first Executive Vice President and is presented each year to a company,
individual or crew that has demonstrated
distinctive achievements in contributions to safety and
accident prevention.

39 Southern California Contractors Association
(SCCA) members were presented with 2009
Excellence in Accident Prevention Awards at the
Petroleum Club in Long Beach. This was the 14th
year for the awards, which are bestowed on
members who have submitted data demonstrating an
above-average safety record as a result of sound
safety practices and training. “Our 2009 winners
reflect well on the companies, SCCA and our
industry,” says Rick McCourt, SCCA Safety
Committee Chairman and safety director, Sukut Construction.
